1. India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement

Why in News?

The India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, ratified on Monday, is scheduled to come into effect on 20 October 2026. The agreement aims to double bilateral trade to about ₹35,000 crore over the next four to five years.

3. Supreme Court, Methanol Rules & Doctrine of Proportionality

The Supreme Court struck down Maharashtra rules requiring methanol supplied to certain non-drug manufacturers to be denatured using colourant and bitterant, holding the restrictions disproportionate and unconstitutional.

5. UPI Enters the ‘Tap and Pay’ Phase

8. Supreme Court, Fresh Investigation & Double Jeopardy
