1. Government Temporarily Blocks Telegram Before NEET Re-Examination
Why in News?
The Government of India temporarily blocked Telegram on the request of the National Testing Agency before the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination to prevent organised cheating rackets and fake paper leak scams.
Background
Several Telegram groups were allegedly advertising fake question papers and misleading candidates. The government also directed Telegram to temporarily disable message editing to prevent backdated fake claims after the examination.
